Divine Mercy Sunday Schedule
April 15th - Divine Mercy Sunday- Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament ends at 6:30 AM
2-2:30pm Blessing of the Divine Mercy images and other holy images
2:30pm - 5:30 pm - Confession
3:00pm - Chaplet of the Divine Mercy will be recited in the chapel inside the church
6:00 pm Holy Mass (officiated by Fr. Joe Visperas)
We have been feeding the homeless and the poor for the past 10 years since we started celebrating the Mercy Sunday. As in the previous years, we are doing the following:
1) Preparing for 300 breakfasts
2) Purchasing socks and gloves for the homeless in downtownLos Angeles.
3) Serving lunch to the residents of the shelter inBuena Park under the care of the First Baptist Church.
This year, we would like to give some gifts for the residents of the shelter as suggested by the Pastor in charge of the homeless shelter. We are trying to raise money to buy about 200 towels, toiletries, and small toys for the homeless and their children. According to the Pastor, these are the items that are always in short supply. Over the years, we have always been privileged to have major sponsors in our midst. We would like to thank them for their generosity.
The Divine Mercy Celebration has always been supported by a few major donors from the Filipino Association. We have never used FABP fundraising money to support this worthwhile endeavor. If you would like to help, please send your check payable to FABP (with a note for Divine Mercy Celebration).
